New App for PTI Event

 02 Feb 2018 12.20pm

Port Technology will launch its event on the Whova app to allow attendees to interact with the Container Terminal Automation Conference and network more effectively.

Whova app users at the event will be able to access the agenda to plan their day, explore the professional profiles of event speakers and attendees, and take part in live chats and polls with other attendees during conference sessions.

Port Technology will also be able to update Whova users in real time about any changes to the event.

Attendees can connect with others who have common affiliations, educations, shared networks and social profiles.

Another feature, the Whova app Bulletin (pictured below), allows speakers and delegates to share pictures and arrange meetings by exchanging details through in-app messages.

Social media is also integrated, with users able to see Twitter posts within the app that feature the conference hashtag #PTIEvent2018.

Once downloaded, the app doesn’t require Wi-Fi to function.

The event will be launched on the app two weeks before the conference starts on March 14, 2018, meaning that anyone with a ticket will need to download Whova or miss out on the chance to get the most out of their PTI event experience.

Faye Newman, PTI's Conference Marketing Manager, said: “Having this app will help break down the barrier between attendees and speakers as they can now network among themselves through live polls, forums and even social media.

"A conference revolving around automation and AI should have a fitting app to prove the power of technology.”

Conference speaker Inna Kuznetsova, INTTRA's President and COO, has explained why artificial intelligence is such an important topic to be discussed at Port Technology's Container Terminal Automation Conference:
