Navis Names New General Manager for EMEA

Navis, a part of Cargotec Corporation and a technology provider for the shipping supply chain, has appointed Chuck Schneider as General Manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

In this new role, Schneider will handle sales, professional services and support in the EMEA region.

Schneider previously served as General Manager for Navis in the Americas and has held various positions within the company for more than 11 years.

During his tenure at Navis, Schneider has been involved in numerous process automation projects utilizing technologies such as OCR, RFID and DGPS to automate data collection functions at container terminals.

Navis is the headline sponsor for Port Technology's 2018 Container Terminal Automation Conference 

He first joined Navis as the VP of Custom Solutions where he expanded the company’s system integration capabilities and custom software development, including building the foundation for its automated terminals.

Schneider (pictured above) has provided the strategic guidance and industry know-how to the teams that launched Navis’ system at DPW Antwerp, APMT Virginia and Long Beach Container Terminal.

Prior to joining Navis, Schneider held the position of Vice President of Custom Solutions for Embarcadero Systems Corporation where he managed large custom software and system integration projects for marine terminal operators.

His background includes experience with terminal operating system (TOS) design, gate and yard automation as well as Internet strategies for integrating shippers, truckers and other supply chain stakeholders with marine terminals.

Schneider holds a Bachelors degree in Electronics Engineering as well as a Masters of Computer Engineering from Cornell University.

As part of the transition, Susan Gardner will manage North American sales in her new title of Sr. Director of Field Operations, North America and Martin Bardi will manage the LATAM region sales as VP of Field Operations.
