  • Terex Port Solutions to deliver two Gottwald Model 6 mobile harbour cranes later this year

Terex Port Solutions has received an order for two mobile harbour cranes from the Port of Napier, New Zealand.

The two Terex Gottwald Model 6 mobile harbour cranes, of the company’s new G HMK 6408 variant, will begin operations late in the summer of this year.

Boasting a lifting capacity of up to 100 tonnes and radii up to 51 metres, the cranes will be modified to meet the specific conditions of the quays in the port and will be used primarily for the handling of containers.

Napier Port currently operates a fleet of four Terex Gottwald HMK 280 E and HMK 300 E mobile harbour cranes.

“When it came to expanding our fleet of harbour cranes, we opted once again for Terex Port Solutions because we were satisfied with their performance, availability and service,” said Napier Port COO, Chris Bain.

The Port Napier Port is currently the second largest on New Zealand’s North Island in terms of the volume of total export cargo handled.
