MSC secures fourth consecutive 'Best Shipping Line – Asia - Africa' award

MSC has received the ‘Best Shipping Line – Asia – Africa’ title at the Asian Freight, Logistics, and Supply Chain (AFLAS) Awards.

This marks the fourth time that MSC has received this accolade, following previous wins in 2019, 2020, and 2022. In 2021, the carrier secured the ‘Best Shipping Line – Asia – Europe’ award.

The AFLAS Awards, hosted and organised by Asia Cargo News, rely on votes from shippers, customers, industry stakeholders, and readers and subscribers of the news platform to determine the winners.

The award presentation took place in Singapore on 28 September, celebrating excellence in the shipping and logistics sector.

In response to the challenges faced by the industry, MSC has enhanced its services to ensure reliable coverage across Africa and Asia. The company has also recently reaffirmed its investment in Africa through a partnership with Africa Global Logistics (AGL).

Gilbert Cappellini, MSC Vice President (Liner- Asia), expressed the company’s unwavering dedication to addressing the unique shipping needs of its customers in the face of global challenges, such as port congestions and economic downturns.

“At MSC, we remained steadfast in understanding our customers’ unique shipping needs and in adapting to the industry conditions to help them overcome these challenges.

“This award is a testament to our customers’ confidence and satisfaction in our solutions, services and our ongoing partnership with them. We are beyond honoured and will remain committed to serving them even better.”

Last month, MSC agreed to buy a majority ownership in Nuovo Trasporto Viaggiatori S.p.A (Italo) from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), an independent infrastructure investor.
