MSC presents new South Africa feeder service

MSC has announced the introduction of a dedicated feeder service between Coega and Cape Town.

The new Shosholoza Feeder Service aims to meet the growing demand for a regular and reliable shipping service between the Far East and Europe, and Cape Town.

The service is expected to provide significant benefits to customers in terms of cost, transit time, and reliability, offering a direct call to Cape Town without the need for transshipment delays.

The carrier will deploy modern vessel MSC Anusha III on the service, with the first call to Coega scheduled for 23 January.

The new rotation will be as follows:

Coega – Cape Town – Coega

A 22-year-old suspect was arrested after an incident involving a false bomb threat on the containership MSC Lorena last month.

Local media reported that the 275-metre-long vessel turned away from the Port of Antwerp at about 3:00 pm 22 December after an unidentified perpetrator had reported of a potential explosion, should the vessel dock at the port.
