A new direct route linking India with the West Mediterranean will launch in the middle of December, according to Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC).

MSC hopes to reduce transshipment for customers and provide expedited transit times through this India-West Med route.

With no transshipment required between load and discharge ports, the service can go from Nhava Sheva to Barcelona in 16 days.

Additionally, the service is linked to MSC’s intermodal networks in Genoa and Valencia, creating new opportunities for exporters across the region.

The first sailing will be with MSC SHANGHAI from Abu Dhabi on 19 December and will rotate as follows: Abu Dhabi – Jebel Ali – Mundra – Nhava Sheva – Djibouti – Gioia Tauro – Genoa –Barcelona – Valencia – Salerno –Gioia Tauro – Marsaxlokk – King Abdullah – Jeddah – Abu Dhabi.
