MSC adds Indian call to enhance Australia Express Service connections

Global shipping company MSC has added a direct call at Ennore, India on the westbound leg of its Australia Express Service (AEX), to be introduced from June 2023.

The new call at Ennore aims to improve export connections for MSC customers to European ports, while also providing a direct import connection from Australia and Singapore.

The service will continue to call at Colombo to accommodate cargo from other Southern and Eastern Indian ports and Sri Lanka.

The revised rotation of the service will be as follows:

Ennore – Colombo – Gioia Tauro – Valencia – London Gateway – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp – Le Havre – Fos Sur Mer – La Spezia – Gioia Tauro – Pointe De Galets – Port Louis – Sydney – Melbourne – Adelaide – Fremantle – Singapore – Ennore

According to the company statement, transit times will be 18 days from Ennore to Gioia Tauro, 21 days to Valencia, and 28 days to London Gateway.

The first vessel on the new rotation will be APL MEXICO CITY, scheduled to arrive in Ennore on 9 June.

MSC just entered into a settlement agreement with the subrogated insurers of Amplify Energy Corporation related to the 2021 Orange County oil spill incident.
