The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) reported that the barge Marco Polo 802 has run aground off Tanjong Beach, Sentosa.
The incident occurred on 6 June, with no reports of damage, injuries, or pollution. The barge—carrying containers—remains stable, and tugboats deployed by MPA are on their way to tow it back to sea.
Navigational safety is unaffected, and the beach remains open to the public. MPA and Sentosa Development Corporation are coordinating with relevant agencies to minimise disruption.

A few hours after the incident, MPA reported that the barge Marco Polo 802, which had run aground off Tanjong Beach, was safely towed to an anchorage for inspection and investigation.
The grounding caused damage to a section of the floating security barriers off Sentosa.
The Police Coast Guard is assessing the damage, carrying out repairs, and has increased patrols in the area.
A few months ago, the Johor Port Authority informed the MPA that the oil leak at Langsat Terminal had been contained, with clean-up operations underway. Following the discovery of an oil patch in the eastern Johor Strait on 3 April, the MPA deployed patrol and response craft to manage the incident, and beach clean-ups at Changi and Pasir Ris were ongoing as of 4 April.
