The Port Technology Summit North America kicks off today and we’re excited to share insights from our Silver Sponsor, Rocsys, on how digitalisation and sustainability are shaping the future of ports and terminals in the US.
Join us from 4 – 6 February 2025 at Hilton The Main, Norfolk, Virginia for this landmark event. Combining the best of the Container Terminal Automation Conference and Smart Digital Ports Conference, the Summit will feature keynotes, panel discussions, and networking with C-level leaders tackling the industry’s biggest challenges.
How do you see digitalisation shaping the future of ports and terminals in North America?
Digitalisation is set to revolutionise North American ports and terminals by enhancing operational efficiency, reducing costs, and improving sustainability. Additionally, digital platforms can streamline communication and data exchange between stakeholders, minimising delays and errors.
As ports increasingly adopt automated systems and data-driven decision-making, their ability to handle larger volumes and meet global trade demands will significantly improve.
What role do you believe sustainability will play in the port industry over the next decade?
Sustainability will evolve from a strategic advantage to a prerequisite for the competitiveness of the port industry. Ports will need to utilise renewable energy sources, electrify their equipment and implement green supply chain initiatives to comply with stricter environmental regulations.
To increase sustainability it is also important to reduce idle transports between terminals and to ensure an overall smooth traffic and cargo flow for terminals and throughout the entire port. Customers and stakeholders are placing increasing emphasis on environmentally friendly operations and are pushing ports to innovate in this area.
How can ports better collaborate with technology providers to accelerate innovation?
Collaboration between ports and technology providers can be strengthened through regular knowledge sharing through industry summits and partnerships. Ports and technology providers can accelerate innovation by fostering a collaborative environment that emphasises mutual understanding and shared goals.
What motivated you to attend the Port Technology Summit North America, and what key insights are you hoping to gain from the discussions and networking opportunities?
Our motivation to attend the Port Technology Summit North America stems from the opportunity to connect with industry leaders and explore new trends that align with our mission to digitise and streamline operational trucking processes at ports.
In addition, the event provides a valuable platform to showcase our solutions and connect with potential partners who share our vision of a smarter, more connected logistics ecosystem.
Equally important are the networking opportunities that allow us to build relationships with key stakeholders, share knowledge and shape the future of the port industry together.
