Port+, a company responsible for managing the Cargo Community System (CCS) in Martinique has renewed its partnership with MGI by choosing Ci5, the world’s first Cargo intelligent System (CiS).
Port+ has been the first community in the Caribbean region to roll out AP+ (Ci5’s predecessor) in 2007 and Airport+ solutions for paperless air transport flows in 2011,
The partnership between Port+ and MGI started with the deployment of AP+ to process import and export container flows at the Pointe des Grives terminal.
This CiS has been designed with state-of-the-art open-source technologies in order to guarantee a lasting and easily upgradeable system for its clients.
The Ci5 solution features a number of innovations such as mobile technology, real-time goods tracking, in-depth user information for better activity management and greater interoperability with partner systems.
Port+ offers its clients a first-rate community information system focused on Smart Port.
Ci5 is a completely user-centric solution that helps users to make significant productivity gains, thanks to a 6-fold reduction in data entry, optimized information search, and automated operational processes.
In addition, thanks to its mobile version, users will be able to use Ci5 on the go, with goods tracking anywhere, any time.
MGI will be tasked to provide specialist training for around 120 companies to ensure a successful transition.
Agents, brokers, freight forwarders, transport companies, terminal operators, customs and the port authority will have a dedicated MGI project team to support them through deployment and operation.
Ci5 is expected to be implemented in early June 2020 and will bring together all of the port’s private and public stakeholders.
Dominique LEBRETON, Member of the MGI Executive Board, said, “Port+ and the dynamic Martinique port community have continually helped us improve the community system by requesting new functions, including transport ordering, break bulk and the air transport module.
“We are delighted to strengthen our partnership with Port+ by deploying Ci5, the latest Cargo intelligent System, in the Caribbean for the first time. Under the Marché Unique Antillais (French Antilles Single Market), MGI is prepared to consider any Ci5 deployment solution that facilitates inter-port trade.
Nicole Sully, Managing Director of Port+ said, “After being the third French port to receive AP+ in 2007, and the first airport in 2011, Fort de France will now join the ranks of communities using Ci5, the innovative Cargo intelligent System developed by MGI.
“This new tool will serve our port and airport community and help us improve our performance in logistics flows and security, thanks to a stronger partnership with our service provider MGI.
“New challenges await us and this new product will optimise goods flow processing for professionals in Martinique.
