Maher Terminals, one of the largest multi-user container terminal operators in North America, has announced the appointment of Gary Cross as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO).
In a statement, the Board of Directors of Maher Terminals said that Cross has accepted overall responsibility for Maher’s corporate vision, strategy, growth and service model.
“Gary rapidly rose to the top as the most appropriate choice to lead the Maher organisation forward with his impactful leadership and experience,” said head of operating assets at Deutsche Bank, Enrico Sanna.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce the conclusion of our extensive search and I want to commend the Executive Search Committee for the integrity of this very important selection process.”
Cross joined Maher Terminals in 1978 as a management trainee and has held positions of increasing responsibility throughout his tenure with the company, joining the sales and marketing team in 1996, before the head of marketing & business development in 2009 and finally the executive vice president in 2011.
“Gary has been a valuable member of the Maher team and we are confident that he will provide the organization with the right leadership at this important stage in the company's growth,” added Sanna.
