Maersk, the world’s biggest container shipping line by market share, has announced the acquisition of Vandegrift Inc., a premier US-based customs house broker, as it looks to accelerate its logistics and service transformation.
In a statement, Maersk said Customs House Brokerage, which involves expertise in tariff rules and regulations, is a key component of its strategy to become an integrated container logistics and end-to-end solutions company.

The carrier insists the acquisition, of Vandegrift, a specialist in trade compliance, will enhance its commercial solutions pipeline and strengthen its logistic presence in the North American market.

However, it did not disclose any further details of the deal.
