Soren Skou, CEO of A.P. Moller Maersk (Maersk), the largest container line in the world by market share, looks set to join the board of directors at mobile technology giants Nokia following the company’s latest board meeting.
In an announcement to New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), Nokia said its board had recommended Skou join the board until at least its next Annual Board Meeting on May 21, 2019.

PTI contacted Maersk for comment but the company declined to comment.
Nokia has, among other industry giants, led the way in pursuing 5G technology in the industrial sector, in particular ports and terminals.
In February 2018 Nokia launched a collaborative initiative with Deutsche Telekom to pilot 5G in the Port of Hamburg, with the goal of exploring the technology’s viability in port operations.
As well as that, in November 2018 the company successfully conducted industrial trials of 5G with sector leaders Kalmar and ABB as part of the Wireless for Verticals research project, in what was the first real-world applications of the technology for electricity grid and harbor automation.
