Maersk Announces New Brand
Maersk has announced it will combine its intra-regional brands MCC, Sealand and Seago Line into one unified brand name, Sealand – A Maersk Company.
According to a statement, Maersk, the biggest container line in the world, is rebranding the lines to simplify its marketing and investment operations.
Sealand – A Maersk Company, will continue to operate independently from the rest of the company. Its current structure of three teams, in three locations, reporting to their regional CEO will remain unchanged. The rebranding will be effective from October 1 2018.
The news comes after Maersk adjusted its surcharge policy to help find the upcoming 2020 IMO rules on sulphur emissions, which have been heavily criticised by the British International Freight Association (BIFA).

“We will further build tailored local solutions for customers while leveraging the scale and stability of the wider Maersk business.
“Customers have rewarded us with consistent growth at three times the pace of the market, and now we have an opportunity to build upon the successes, while defining a clearer and stronger regional value proposition”.
