APM Terminals (APMT) scooped the 'Innovation of the Year' award for its Maasvlakte II container terminal at the awards ceremony, which opened around four months ago with an official ceremony, attended by 500 people, including King Willem of Holland.
Rose Coulson, Customer Service Director at Maersk Line UK and Ireland, said: “We had a successful 2014 and these awards are a good way to underline that.
“It is recognition for the hard work of our employees and the support of our customers and partners throughout the year, and we would also like to thank everyone that voted for us.”

It has since placed an order for around eleven 19,630 TEU ships in a bid to increase its overall fleet capacity and to remain competitive.
It is also engaging in port projects within Africa and is looking to secure contracts to build and develop a number of Nigeria’s container ports.
