MACS Maritime Carrier Shipping GmbH & Co, Hamburg/Germany (MACS) and HUGO STINNES Schiffahrt, Rostock/Germany (HSS), have announced they will operate in Spain together under their own agency name.
On 15 May 2024, Stinnes & MACS Agencia Marítima, based in Bilbao/Spain, will take over marketing, sales, and port operations for the two MPP (Multipurpose) Liner Services provided by the shipping companies.
According to the Port of Hamburg, Stinnes & MACS Agencia Marítima will offer the HSS SANMEX MPP Service from Spain/Portugal to Mexico/US Gulf and vice versa, as well as the MACS MPP Service from Spain (except Galicia) to/from Southern Africa.

For MACS, the Galician territory remains under the agency of Comarsa, Vigo, while Portugal will be handled by MACS’s own agency MCPAS, which has offices in Leixoes and Lisbon.
Dietrich Scheder-Bieschin, owner of MACS Maritime Carrier Shipping GmbH & Co, said: “With the inception of a MACS branded agency in Spain an era is coming to an end.
