MacGregor obtains cargo handling solution order from Philly Shipyard

MacGregor, a Cargotec company, has acquired a large contract for cargo handling systems for three 1822 FEU container carriers from SM Solution/Philly Shipyard.

The order has been entered into Cargotec’s Q4 2023 order intake, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024 and be completed by 2026.

MacGregor’s area of delivery includes hatch covers, lashing bridges, deck stanchions, permanent and detachable cell guides in hold, and container fixed fittings.

Magnus Sjöberg, Senior Vice President, Merchant Solutions Division, MacGregor, said: ”We are excited about this order, which is a nice continuity for the Aloha Class series and for the good collaboration with SM Solution and Philly Shipyard.

“Philly Shipyard is a forward-thinking shipbuilding facility and we are committed to providing cutting-edge solutions and look forward to contributing our expertise to ensure their success.”

In February 2021, MacGregor signed a two-year OnWatch Scout Predict agreement with Load Line Marine SA to support operation of their fleet equipped with MacGregor merchant cranes.

In December 2022, MacGregor’s heavy-duty transloading crane with the type name “TEC”, which claims to improve efficiency and lower maintenance costs, was released.
