  • CMA CGM shipper begins weekly service into UK port

UK port operator PD Ports has announced a new weekly multi-modal logistics service into Teesport through MacAndrews, part of the CMA-CGM Group.

This new weekly service, which commenced on Monday, will connect the North-east port with Iberia, Sweden and Poland as part of MacAndrews’ existing Scan-Baltic service.

“I am delighted to announce that we are MacAndrews port of choice on the North-east coast and have successfully welcomed the first of two 800 TEU vessels, which will operate the service, into Teesport, said PD Ports’ managing director unitised, Frans Calje.

“The arrival of MacAndrews and this new weekly call into Teesport greatly enhances the network of services which we can offer to the region’s importers and exporters.

“We very much look forward to further developing this service as market demand strengthens.”

In 2012 PD Ports delivered a major upgrade in Teesport’s operating systems following a £16.7 million investment in its wider container terminal facilities.
