AD Ports expands logistics reach with MBS deal
AD Ports Group has agreed to acquire Cologne-based MBS Logistics Group, expanding its freight forwarding and logistics footprint across Europe, Asia Pacific and the US.

The deal includes MBS Logistics’ operations in Germany, Switzerland, Asia Pacific and the US, excluding joint ventures. Completion is expected in the second half of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.

Following completion, MBS Logistics will join Noatum Logistics, the logistics platform within AD Ports Group’s Logistics Cluster.

MBS Logistics generated revenues of €205 million ($239 million) in 2025 and operates 26 offices worldwide with more than 450 employees.

Its services span air, ocean, road and rail freight forwarding, alongside contract logistics, customs and project cargo solutions.

The acquisition strengthens Noatum Logistics’ presence in Europe and Asia as AD Ports Group continues to expand its integrated logistics network through targeted acquisitions.

Jochen Thewes, CEO of the Logistics Cluster at AD Ports Group, said: “Bringing MBS Logistics into our ecosystem is the right move at the right time, especially as markets seek greater connectivity and resilience in an evolving global trade and logistics landscape.”

Current shareholders of MBS Logistics will exit the operational business following completion, except Joerg Roehl, Group CEO and Shareholder of MBS Logistics, who will remain in his role and oversee integration into the wider organisation.

Joerg Roehl, Group CEO and Shareholder of MBS Logistics, added: “Joining AD Ports Group and Noatum Logistics marks an important milestone for MBS Logistics.”

Recently, AD Ports Group awarded three contracts worth a combined AED 735 million ($200 million) for the design, construction and crane procurement at the Noatum Ports Pointe-Noire Terminal in the Republic of the Congo.
