Liebherr Maritime Cranes has delivered its latest cargo-handling solution, the LRS 545 to the Italian Port of Ravenna, which is the first model from the new reach stacker series.
The port handles solid bulk commodities, particularly raw materials for the ceramic, grain, fertiliser and flour industry.
Designed for low maintenance, the LRS 545 is equipped with a four-cylinder, 230 kilowatt Liebherr diesel engine.
The engine protects the environment by low fuel consumption and reduced emissions.
Technical Paper: New Equipment for Demands
To fulfil stage IV and tier four final legislative requirements, Liebherr relies entirely on an SCR (selective catalytic reduction) system.
Performance is also measured by possible down times.
Service intervals of 1000 operating hours provide the reliability for the engineers on-site.
Remote access and remote technical assistance in order to analyse data and carry out troubleshooting are possible via internet.

Its wedge-shaped design provides the agility for smooth operation not only in-between narrow container rows but the front blind spot is reduced to improve the visual field in all directions, which means enhanced safety at work for the operator.
Mr Leoni, Reach Stacker Operator at Port of Ravenna, said: “When technology meets design, magic happens. At least for me, and that is exactly the case when I start the engine of the new Liebherr reach stacker and begin my shift.”
