  • Two RTGs and one super post-Panamax STS crane due for delivery at Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos later this year

Peru’s Terminales Portuarios Euroandinos has reached an agreement for the delivery of one super post-Panamax ship-to-shore (STS) crane and an additional two rubber-tyred gantry cranes with Liebherr Container Cranes.

The cranes are due to be delivered to the terminal located in the Port of Paita, Peru’s fifth largest deepwater port, towards the end of this year.

Paita’s new STS crane has a safe working load of 55 tonnes under a twin lift spreader, an outreach of 51 metres, a back reach of 17 metres and a span of 30.48 metres. The lifting height above the rail is 36 metres.

The RTGs have four wheels per corner, and are capable of stacking 1 over 5 high and span 7 containers and a truck lane.

These cranes are the first Liebherr STS and RTG cranes to be delivered to Peru and will join a pair of Liebherr Mobile Harbour Cranes (LHM 550) that have recently been delivered to the port.
