For the 2014 business year, the Liebherr Group is anticipating an overall turnover of more than US$11 billion.

Compared with the turnover from 2013, this is a slight drop of around$121 million or 1%.

In the area of construction machines and mining, Liebherr expects a turnover of approximately $6.6 billion, which is a decline of around $317 million, or 4.5%.

This decline results from the weakness of the global mining industry. The group’s construction machinery and mining area comprises the mobile crane, tower crane, concrete technology and mining divisions.

For the divisions beyond this area including maritime cranes, aerospace and transportation systems as well as machine tools and automation systems, an overall growth is expected.

Liebherr has performed well in the 2014 business year in Western Europe. In most other sales regions, however, Liebherr has recorded a decline in turnover.

In the Far East and Australian region, as well as in the Near and Middle East, the level of dynamism has been low, the company stated in a press release.

The group invested heavily in production, sales and service in 2014, with a total investment of around $1 billion.

For the future, Liebherr has planned one further investment in the construction of a new logistics centre near Kirchdorf an der Iller, Germany. From early 2015, this will be the base from which spare parts for Liebherr earthmoving machinery will be supplied around the world.

For 2015, worldwide growth of 3.8% is anticipated. Against this backdrop, the group is looking optimistically towards 2015 and based on an initial estimate, Liebherr expects overall turnover to increase.
