Liebherr Maritime Cranes has recently announced the launch of its new Pulser reachstacker series, where Magna Tyres is supplying MB01 tyres for OE mounting on the LRS 545 The first model, type LRS 545, is the new efficient link between quay and yard, standing for productivity through agility.
In a previous article by PTI, Liebherr had launched its new generation engine in a bid to meet the required emissions and fuel consumption targets.
Matthias Mungenast, Sales Director for Liebherr Mobile Harbour Cranes and Reachstackers, said: “The Pulser reachstacker series is the new cargo handling partner for ports and terminals. Its wedge-shaped design provides the desired agility for smooth container operation. With the latest technology on board, the new machine truly quickens the pulse of every terminal.”
The LRS 545 is designed for highly responsive operation. The machine stacks five containers high in the first row and is capable of handling 45 tonnes in the first and 31 tonnes in the second row.
The LRS 545 comes with a total weight of approximately 70 tonnes and is equipped with a powerful but economical 4-cylinder 230 kW diesel engine. The in-house developed motor is in compliance with the latest EU Stage IV / EPA Tier 4 final emission standards.
The complete design of the new reachstacker series is based on the latest technology in order to maximise driver’s comfort, performance and eco-friendliness.
A convenient and ergonomic cabin is said to reduce fatigue of the driver and leads to more safety, as well as better performance in operation. The customer can opt for a steering wheel or go for an additional steer-by-wire control.
Matthias Mungenast concluded: “Visibility, driveability and comfort, that’s what drivers can expect from our new Pulser series. This allows for high performance in a relaxed manner.”
Each wheel of the new reachstacker is steered separately, aiming to directly improve the agility of the machine.
Liebherr Maritime Cranes intends to further expand the pulser range in the long term.
