Konecranes, a smart port solutions provider, has introduced the next generation of its Automated Rubber Tired Gantry (ARTG) System.
According to a statement, the Version 2.0 system can be retrofitted to most brownfield container terminals and fits most container stack envelopes.
In addition to this, Version 2.0 facilitates safe and efficient automated truck handling, as one remote supervisor can operate up to 5 ARTGs at the same time.

The Version 2.0 system also includes the latest wireless communication technology, which will allow control signals and video signals to be sent wirelessly.
Konecranes was the first company to develop an ARTG System on a wide commercial scale, and since its introduction in 2013 a number of container terminal operators have implemented it at their facilities.
