Euroports Rauma in Finland has placed an order for five forklift trucks from Konecranes Lift Trucks.
The lift trucks will be delivered together with its TRUCONNECT remote monitoring service in August, 2016.
The port has been a Konecranes customer since 1996; this order brings the number of Konecranes lift trucks in their fleet to 57.
The new machines will continue to build on the port’s reputation for expert handling of especially pulp and paper as well as sawn timber.
The port is the largest export port of paper in Finland and has a specialised fleet of equipment for safe and gentle paper handling that maximises production and minimises damage to the rolls.
Patrik Starck, Regional Sales Director in Europe for Konecranes Lift Trucks, said: “Rauma want their machines to come with cutting edge lift truck technology, therefore our new C model with the spacious cabin OPTIMA together with our TRUCONNECT system played a big role in winning the deal. We are proud that our machines and technologies continue to earn Rauma’s trust.”
Petri Viinikkala of Euroports Rauma, said: “The TRUCONNECT Remote service means that no matter where the trucks are we have a clear and precise picture of how they are being operated, and how they are running. We can clearly anticipate any issues, to significantly increase uptime and efficiency of our fleet.”
Fact File: Rauma’s harbour is the fifth largest in the country, handling more than 5.4 million tonnes of cargo every year. With a total of 20 berths, the port offers multipurpose facilities for import, export and transit traffic.
