Konecranes has launched the ‘Avolution of Intermodal’, a specialized offering that allows a manned-to-automated growth path, remote monitoring capabilities and intelligent software control to intermodal terminal operators.
With its wide range of products ranging from heavy-duty lift trucks to manned container cranes and fully-automated yard crane systems, Konecranes will offer different concepts to fit different intermodal handling scenarios.
The Finnish manufacturer of cranes and lifting equipment will use its Avolution of Intermodal approach for rail by building around the Automated BOXPORTER RMG system.

On the horizontal transport side, Konecranes will offer a range of options with products such as its A-STRADs and A-SPRINTERs, AGVs and Lift-AGVs, and Automated Terminal Tractors in a partnership with Terberg.
The Avolution of Intermodal range also includes new features from Konecranes Lift Trucks, including Work Zone and Ecolifting — with Power Drive, Flow Drive and Hybrid Drive — to increase to eco-efficiency of lift truck operations.
Konecranes has completed its intermodal offer with the TEAMS Equipment Control System and Terminal Operating System from TBA, an intelligent software control for container handling automation.
