Konecranes has appointed a new Chief Digital Officer, Ilari Kallio, who was previously a director at Finnish marine technologies firm Wärtsilä.
Kallio starts in his new position on June 18, 2018, and reports to Juha Pankakoski, Executive Vice President, Technologies, at Konecranes.
At Wärtsilä, Kallio was recently working as Director, Digitalization, for one of its marine business units.

Kallio has experience from leading large technology functions, developing new digital business models and building innovation ecosystems.
He has also participated in driving the Finnish industry forward in many innovation hubs, like DIMECC Oy and Click Innovation Oy as a chairman and board member.

Kallio, who was Finland’s Chief Technology Officer of the year in 2016, said: “Konecranes is a fantastic company and a real industry forerunner in digitalization.
