June 11, 2014 saw Konecranes’ Danish distributor NC Nielsen deliver a 100 metric ton (MT) capacity reach stacker to Jutlandia Terminal in Esbjerg, Denmark.

The machine was tailored by NC Nielsen from a standard Konecranes reach stacker and was made to match the customer’s requirements.

The machines come equipped with a lifting hook, foldable hydraulic support rolling wheels and a nine-metre wheel base. The features allow the machine to withstand weights of up to 100MT.

Mr Per Jensen, Terminal & Stevedoring manager at Blue Water Shipping said of the order: “Assembling wind turbines on an industrial scale is challenging, working with reliable equipment is essential. The Konecranes 100MT reach stacker helped us to assemble and commission the turbines in record time.”

The terminal is using the reach stacker to handle and transport blades and components for wind turbines.
