Konecranes, a smart terminal solutions provider, has agreed to deliver its Automated RTG (ARTG) System to PT Prima Terminal Petikemas, a subsidiary of Indonesian port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero).

As part of the order, which was signed in Q3 2018, the Belawan Container Terminal in Medan, North Sumatra will receive 12 ARTG cranes with associated software, interfaces and services.

As well as ARTGs, the order consists of four Remote Operating Stations (ROSs), truck guidance systems and intelligent gates for container stacks.

According to a statement, Indonesia is a strategically important country for Konecranes, the government currently supporting a nationwide freight transport program to improve the movement of goods throughout the country.

Jansen Sitohang, President Director of PT Prima Terminal Petikemas, said: “Pelindo I is strongly modernizing its container terminals with the latest automation technology.

“We are pleased with our collaboration with Konecranes, and look forward to executing this project successfully and serving our customers as efficiently as possible in the beginning of 2020.”
