Konecranes has been awarded a contract to upgrade the reactor hall overhead crane at Sweden’s Oskarshamn Nuclear Power Plant.
The order was booked in Q4 2023.
According to Konecranes, the crane is critical in servicing the reactor and managing the evacuation of spent fuel casks while adhering to strict regulatory criteria.
The contract calls for Konecranes to develop, manufacture, supply, and install modernisation components, including a new 165-tonne trolley/hoist, over a two-year period.
