Konecranes has appointed Anders Svensson as its new President and CEO following the cancelled merger with Cargotec.
Anders Svensson, currently President of the Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions Business Area, will assume his role at the latest on 7 December; until then Konecranes CFO Teo Ottola will continue to act as the Interim CEO.
Prior to his current role, he has held various leadership positions within Sandvik since 2008, including President, Crushing and Screening Division; President, Customer Services and SVP Global Sales, Sandvik Construction as well as Chief Purchasing Officer, Sandvik Construction and Sandvik Mining.
“The Konecranes Board of Directors initiated an international search process for a new President and CEO in March immediately after the planned merger with Cargotec was cancelled,” said Christoph Vitzthum, Chairman of Konecranes’ Board of Directors.

The terminal, which provides local access to key Latin American and Asian trade routes, booked the order in May 2022 for delivery in July 2023.
