King Fahd Industrial Port receives Jolly Palladio vessel

King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu has received the vessel ‘Jolly Palladio’ from the maritime agent ‘Saudi Investment Group and Marketing’ via the shipping line ‘Ignazio Messina’.

The vessel is loaded with vehicles for the Dakar Rally 2024, including 864 vehicles, 86 motorcycles, five helicopters, and 39 containers, to participate in the ‘Saudi Dakar Rally 2024’.

The off-loading operations were completed within nine hours, setting a record compared to last year’s unloading of 712 vehicles in 12 hours.

In August 2023, Minerva Bunkering extended its Saudi Arabia Red Sea operations to accommodate boats calling at King Abdullah Port, having recently completed the port’s maiden bunker delivery.

More recently, the Saudi Ports Authority (MAWANI) achieved an increase in the number of containers handled by 16.85 per cent to reach 737,530 TEU in November, compared to 631,160 TEU in the same month of 2022.
