KC Liner Agencies has announced the first-ever direct container service connecting China and Scotland east and westbound.
The maiden voyage of China Xpress departed Ningbo, China, on 6 June 2022, arriving directly at Greenock Port, Scotland, around 10 July 2022.
Operating under our own direct charter, and complemented by an Alliance partnership with DKT Allseas China Xpress service, the route will provide Scottish importers and exporters with a direct port call eliminating transshipments and delays at European ports.
David Milne, KC Group Shipping Managing Director, commented: “China Xpress is one of the most significant developments in the UK, and especially Scotland’s shipping industry, for many years.
“We’ve analysed the marketplace and listened to our customers, and there is no doubt that the service will bring much-needed efficiencies to their supply chains.”
China Xpress Service includes; 6 1600 TEU vessels on a 10 day port rotation, with 3 sailings per month. The service features Ningbo and Dongguan to Liverpool and Greenock; a feeder network servicing Far East Asia; the fastest and only direct container service linking China to/from Scotland; and an independent Feeder service connecting Greenock and Liverpool both north and southbound.
Milne continued: “I am encouraged that Scotland’s industries now have a solution to ensure commerce, products and trade in and out of Scotland, have an effective and competitive way forward.”
