K Line's new woodchip carrier Forestal Gala is being delivered today (May 24, 2017) by Tsuneishi Factory of Tsuneishi Shipbuilding in Japan.
Forestal Gala (pictured) will sail for Dung Quat Port in Vietnam on her maiden voyage to start a dedicated service of carrying woodchips for paper materials to Nippon Paper Industries.
Her hold capacity is about 3.6 million cft and she weights in at a deadweight tonnage of about 49,200 mt.
K Line stated in its announcement: “She inherited this traditional and unique vessel name from a predecessor also engaged in service to Nippon Paper Industries for a long time in the past.
“She is equipped with the latest environmental-friendly, safety-oriented features.”
