Three Japanese liners have named an NYK Group CEO to head up their Ocean Network Express (ONE) liner joint venture from 2018.

ONE's new CEO, Jeremy Nixon, has been CEO of NYK’s liner division since 2012.

Nixon will join other ONE directors appointed by each of the Japanese liners – Noriaki Yamaga from K Line, Hiroki Tsujii from MOL and Yasuki Iwai from NYK.

ONE executives have planned to make an around-the-world tour in October, 2017 to promote sales at events in major ports.

They will complete the tour ahead of accepting bookings for shipments in February and launching the liner two months afterward.

ONE’s global headquarters will be located in Singapore alongside ONE’s south-east Asia and Australasia business, while the holding company will be located in Tokyo.

Regional headquarters will also be set up in other countries: in Hong Kong for China and east Asia, London for Europe, Virginia for North America and Sao Paulo for Latin America.

ONE will be the sixth largest container shipping operator when it is formally established in April 2018, with 1.44 million TEU capacity.
