INFORM has announced that it will deliver its Integrated Terminal Scheduler (ITS) to PSA Belgium’s Europa Terminal, as the terminal undergoes wholesale operational upgrades.
The ITS solution is expected to optimise the move schedules for the terminal’s quay cranes, straddle carriers, and automated stacking cranes (ASCs) during all transition phases of its upgrade.
INFORM will also provide the control room user interface that will provide PSA Belgium operational transparency and management by exception.
This software will be fed by PSA Antwerp’s inhouse Terminal Operation System (TOS) and it is scheduled to launch in 2026.

“We bring a wealth of experience from across the industry and from very similar projects we’ve been running successfully at other terminals,” said Senior Vice President at INFORM’s Terminal & Distribution Center Logistics Division, Dr. Eva Savelsberg.
“We are therefore confident that our ITS will be able to help optimise moves at Europa Terminal.”
In November 2022, PSA and the Port of Antwerp-Bruges’ embarked on a grand upgrade of the Europa Terminal on the right bank of the river Scheldt.
These works will expand the container terminal’s capacity by more than 700,000 TEU per year and help PSA Antwerp reach its sustainability goals to reduce its carbon emissions by 50 per cent by 2030 and become completely carbon neutral by 2050.
PSA has selected INFORM to help it optimise Europa Terminal’s moves on the yard during this refurbishment, where each time one third of the terminal is out of service.
Alex Van Winckel, Director Strategic Relations and Sales at INFORM’s Terminal & Distribution Center Logistics Division, commented: “As the terminal will remain operational during the transition, our solution must cater for hybrid operations to maintain a high level of services across the project.”
