An infographic released by Maersk Line shows a more detailed specification of its Maersk Triple-E ship as a fuel efficient vessel for global trade.

The ships are no longer the largest in service, since the MSC Oscar/Zoe/Oliver are now the world’s largest at 19,224 TEU, but according to the infographic, the ship was designed specially for lower speeds and CO2.

The Triple-E has twin 43,000 horse power diesel-powered engines, which operate propellers that are able to reduce fuel consumption by around 37%, as well as CO2 by 37%.

In comparison to its Emma Maersk ship, the Triple-E can carry 16% more (2,500 TEU) containers, thanks to its u-shaped hull.
