An infographic released by the World Economic Forum in association with the Suez Canal Authority shows six key facts about the Suez Canal project.
The canal will be inaugurated by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi on August 6, 2015 and is the longest canal in the world, spanning a massive 193 kilometres.
In total the project has cost US$8.5 billion to complete and will effectively cut transit between Singapore and Rotterdam by 6,000 kilometres.
