  • Six Kalmar E-One2 RTGs scheduled for delivery in Q2 2014

Indonesia’s PT Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) has ordered six Kalmar E-One2 rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs).

A new customer for Kalmar, TPS expect the RTGs to be delivered by the end of the second quarter 2014.

“We are delighted to work with Kalmar. It was their ability to deliver the latest technology, through the E-One2, together with excellent service support from the local Kalmar dealer network that convinced us,” said Captain Sanjay Mehta, vice president director at TPS

“We expect highly reliable equipment with features that reduce the cost of ownership to maximise the return on investment.”

TPS, a joint venture between state-owned terminal operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III and DP World, started operations in 1999.

The additional RTGs will significantly increase container capacity at the terminal, which currently handles over 1 million TEU annually.
