Indian authorities transferred 18 crew from lifeboats to an Indian Navy ship bound for New Mangalore Port, hours after a fire on the Singapore-registered Wan Hai 503.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was informed that four crew members—two Taiwanese, one Myanmar, and one Indonesian—remain missing, with search and rescue (SAR) operations ongoing.

Of the rescued crew, five sustained injuries and are receiving medical treatment onboard the Indian Navy ship.

As of 08:30 PM on 9 June 2025 (Singapore Time), three vessels from the Indian Coast Guard and Navy, along with aircraft, were deployed to support SAR efforts.

An MPA team is en route to assist the Indian authorities.
