ICHCA makes tech-panel appointments

Global cargo handling non-governmental organisation ICHCA International has made two new appointments to its technical panel.

Jan Boermans, DP World’s regional HSE director for Europe and Russia, has been appointed chairman of the Association’s ISP Technical Panel.

Boermans has 10 years’ experience with DP World and also worked for nine years with AMCOR PET Packaging as its regional S&E manager. In total, he has almost 20 years’ experience in safety management.

Boermans said: “Having been a member of ISP for many years, I’m delighted to be elected as chair. I look forward to supporting and advancing the work of ISP as a key reference point in the cargo handling industry.”

Bill Brassington, principal at ETD Consulting, has been appointed deputy chairman, to the ISP Technical Panel.

Brassington has 11 years’ experience with GE SeaCo Services and P&O Containers, and currently works as an independent safety and security consultant. He has a total of 20 years in the container industry.

“I am very happy to accept the position of deputy chair to assist Jan in running one of the most important panels involved in supply chain safety,” Brassington said.

The 72nd ISP meeting will be held in Liverpool, UK this November, hosted by Peel Ports.
