  • Dongguan Haichang Shipping’s new RMB1.16 billion terminal will have an annual capacity of 5 million tonnes

China’s Humen Port has this week started construction works on its new bulk terminal.

The bulk import/export facility, boasting an annual handling capacity of around five million tonnes, will be funded by Dongguan Haichang Shipping to the tune of RMB1.16 billion.

The new terminal represents Haichang Shipping’s third terminal project at the port, which includes two 50,000 tonne berths, according to Sino Ship News.

“The terminal will be the supplement to the bulk terminals in Guangzhou Port and Shenzhen Port in the Pearl River Delta region and further complete the logistics system of Humen Port,” said a Dongguan Haichang Shipping official.

The Humen Port Group has also announced that it is set to sell 15 percent of its 49 percent share in the Tongzhou Petrochemical Terminal on the Shenzhen United Assets and Equity Exchange for RMB32.6 million.
