HTS Brazil to install OCR systems at entry gates of Manaus Port
HTS Brazil has signed a contract with Super Terminais to install its Optical Character Recognition (OCR) systems at the privately-owned terminal in Manaus, Brazil.
The Ergos Group firm and branch of Israel’s HTS will implement its automation technology at the port’s entry gates for the identification of truck license plates and container numbers as they arrive at the terminal.
“Our main goal is to improve the productivity of operations in addition to cargo and vehicle admission, avoiding logistic problems and the huge queues caused by the large volume of trucks,” said Super Terminais director, Marcello Di Gregorio.
HTS is currently planning the civil works while the equipment is being imported from Israel for installation.
“Surveys have been carried out by our technical team, including physical and logistic networks for reporting the essential services that must be consistently and continuously operational inside a port terminal,” said HTS IT manager, Thiago Albertine.
“We are capable of identifying structural problems which are central for the success of the automation process.”
The deadline for the project’s completion has been set for September this year.
