HJ Shipbuilding & Construction (HJSC) has announced the delivery of an LNG dual-fuel containership built at its Yeongdo Shipyard in Busan, South Korea.
The global shipbuilder reported that on 20 January, it successfully delivered the first of two 7,700 TEU LNG dual-fuel containerships purchased by a European shipowner for 2022.
The delivery signing ceremony was held at the Yeongdo Shipyard with representatives from both the shipowner and HJSC in attendance.
The delivered vessel is a 7,700 TEU LNG dual-fuel containership, measuring 272 metres in length and capable of cruising at 22 knots.
It combines specifications with an environmentally friendly design. According to HJSC, the ship is outfitted with a Mark III membrane-type gasoline tank from French manufacturer GTT, which provides a storage capacity of 6,100 cubic metres while optimising container space.
The vessel is designed to meet the International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s sulphur oxide and carbon dioxide emission requirements.

“Through the development and construction of eco-friendly, high-value ships suited for the decarbonised era, we aim to meet the expectations of our shipowners.”
