HHLA projects significant revenue increase for FY 2024

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) has raised its forecast for the current financial year based on its preliminary and unaudited results for the first nine months of 2024.

In 2024, the Port Logistics subgroup is forecast to have a small growth in container throughput (formerly moderate), while container transport is likely to grow considerably.

Revenue is expected to climb significantly. This is mostly due to an increase in income from rail transportation.

The operating result (EBIT) is expected to be between €110 million ($119 million) and €130 million ($140 million), up from the previous range of €70 million ($75 million) to €100 million ($108 million), due to increased revenue from longer container dwell times at Hamburg terminals.

Within this range, both the Container and Intermodal segments are likely to have a significant year-on-year (YoY) improvement in their EBIT performance.

HHLA revealed that it will release comprehensive numbers for January – September 2024 on 14 November.

Recently, HHLA announced it will introduce 116 Li-Ion AGVs from Konecranes in a transition to a fully-electric Automated Horizontal Transport System at its Container Terminal Burchardkai (CTB).
