Hapag-Lloyd has recently been sharing its containerships’ travels around the world in timelapse videos on YouTube.
The fifth biggest container shipping company has now reached its fifth timelapse video, so to celebrate, Port Technology has embedded them below for your viewing pleasure.
Many of the videos have been shot by Henning Dost, an officer on the Hapag-Lloyd ships.
In the latest video, Captain Dost takes you under the Golden Gate Bridge and into the stunning San Francisco Bay, passing Alcatraz, before going under the Oakland Bay Bridge and arriving at Port of Oakland.
This next ride along, captured again by Dost, features the Basle Express (13,200 TEU) and the Praque Express (8,800 TEU) travelling to the port of Santos in Brazil.
This video was created to show the new found strength of the company after the merger of Hapag-Lloyd and UASC in May. Hapag-Lloyd recently released details on the might of its combined fleet.
Its fourth video shows the journey spanning from Hamburg to Singapore, which is one of Hapag-Lloyd’s most valuable transshipment hubs in Asia.
Last, but certainly not least in terms of excitement, is the journey across the icy St. Lawrence river to Montreal.
Canada is one of Hapag-Lloyd's major destinations with its new Atlantic service offering eight port calls per week in Canada.
