Hapag-Lloyd has invested in Container Terminal Wilhelmshaven at JadeWeserPort in Germany.

The company is set to acquire a 30% stake in the container terminal as well as 50% of the shares for Rail Terminal Wilhelmshaven.

The remaining shares will continue to be owned by Bremen terminal operator Eurogate.

While both parties have agreed to not disclose the purchase price, contract closing is expected within the next few months.

Hapag-Lloyd has also recently partnered with MatchBox Exchange for its customers in Vietnam.

Announced in September 2021 through a social media post, MatchBox Exchange said by working with the German shipping line it will now be able to provide transport companies, freight forwarders and shippers in Vietnam the opportunity to reuse and exchange empty containers inland.
