Hapag-Lloyd limits service to Israel
Hapag-Lloyd has temporarily limited its service to the Port of Haifa, Israel, following a careful assessment of the current security environment amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel.

Hapag-Lloyd’s Atlantic Loop 7 (AL7) service will continue to call the port, while its East Med Shuttle 3 (EM3) service has temporarily suspended cargo acceptance for Haifa-bound shipments.

Despite this, Hapag-Lloyd has confirmed that its vessels continue to transit the Strait of Hormuz, with operations across the region continuing without interruption, as vessel schedules, port calls, and inland activities proceed as planned.

The shipping giant stated it continues to closely monitor the current developments in the region through relevant authorities and port operators.

“We are closely monitoring the ongoing geopolitical developments in the Middle East,” the shipping company stated.

“As always, the safety of our seafarers, vessels and your cargo, as well as the reliability of our service, remain our top priorities.

“We are actively evaluating potential risks and stand ready to adjust our operations should conditions change.”

Danish shipping giant Maersk has joined Hapag-Lloyd in implementing temporary measures in response to the escalating conflict, suspending vessel calls and cargo acceptance at the Port of Haifa. The company cited security concerns as tensions between Israel and Iran continue to rise.
