In a bid to protect the environment from excess waste, Australia has decided to ban all dumping along the Great Barrier Reef.

Concerns began to surface recently when Australian conservationists began to fear that government reports were not doing enough to protect the Great Barrier Reef.

In a recent article published by the BBC, Australian Minister for the Environment, Greg Hunt, said: “This will end the practice that has been going on for 100 years for perpetuity”.

Environmental issues have been spreading the world over; with recent claims made by the International Chamber of Shipping that container shipping in the Arctic will not impact the environment under IMO rules.

There are also concerns that the Nicaragua Canal construction will lead to the extinction of species of plants and fish, as well as destroy the fresh water sources that nourish the Nicaraguan community.
