Governments finalise agreements for Rotterdam development
The Port of Rotterdam and its partners have presented joint agreements on key developments in resource and energy transition.

Additionally, these key developments cover residential construction, accessibility, and environmental balance, including landscape development and noise reduction.

This marks the first time such a broad coalition has collaborated on strategic planning and project acceleration in the Rotterdam port region.

The port believes that this is necessary because many different spatial and social challenges converge in the region.

Central and regional government want their collaboration to create a future-proof port in an economically powerful region that is attractive to live and work in.

The Port of Rotterdam has highlighted its lack of space.

NOVEX parties are therefore launching an investigation into the usefulness, necessity, and environmental impact of various solutions that also strengthen the living environment.

The study will assess the current port area, regional industrial sites, and potential expansion, with initial analyses expected before summer.

Bottlenecks related to space, nitrogen, and waste legislation will also be addressed collaboratively.

Further agreements will be made next year on safely facilitating hydrogen developments in the port.

Recently, the Port of Rotterdam Authority expanded its Moezelweg pipeline corridor to address current and future capacity issues.
